The Observatory will combine visual storytelling with product showcases devoted to devices, user interfaces and applications that are powered by cable's network.

For their outstanding contributions to the cable industry, Nancy Dubuc, President, Entertainment & Media, A+E Networks, and Patrick Esser, President, Cox Communications, are the recipients of the cable industry’s top honor, the Vanguard Award for “Distinguished Leadership,” the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) announced today.

Eight executives of vendor companies for cable industry Information Technology (IT) services have been chosen by a selection committee of cable Chief Information Officers (CIOs) as finalists in the fourth annual CIO.IT | Competition 2013, a program of solution-based presentations scheduled for the CIO.IT program at The Cable Show 2013, in Washington, DC.

The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) issued its annual call for nominations for the Vanguard Awards, the cable industry’s highest honor.   Now in their 48th year, the Vanguard Awards honor the cable industry’s foremost leaders in management, technology, programming, operations and marketing whose accomplishments merit the recognition of the entire industry.

In an effort to educate skilled veterans, reservists and military spouses about the U.S. cable industry and connect them with companies that are seeking workers, dozens of companies will be participating in a job fair hosted this June at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association’s (NCTA) annual convention, The Cable Show 2013. 

Cable operators and programming networks as well as technology and software companies will be conducting on-site interviews and testing for nationwide jobs.  In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to attend career guidance workshops aimed at improving important skills, such as resume writing and interviewing.
